- In April 2004 three senior members of the
dojo travelled to Honbu (New York) to take promotions under
Kaicho Nakamura. Kyoshi John Esposito was successful in his promotion
to Godan (5th Dan), and Senpai Matt Sherratt and Senpai Cham Bain
Smith were both successful in their promotions to Sandan (3rd Dan).
Several other members of the dojo also travelled to NY to support the
candidates. Some photo's taken on the trip can be seen in the Gallery
below.
- 2005 saw the departure of two long serving
members of the dojo. Kyoshi John Esposito, one of the original members
of London Seido, returned to New Zealand in February, followed by
Senpai Chris Styant who also returned to NZ after many years at the
club.
